A selection of exciting European wines... We are delighted to have Will, from London-based The Sourcing Table.

The Sourcing Table are passionate about re-defining fine wines and introducing their customers to handpicked different wines from around the world - always with a story. 

For this Carne Wine Table we asked Will to bring his recommendations for wine to drink with steak, so expect a steak led pairing menu from us... Here are the wines that Will has chosen for us, wines loved by The Sourcing Table, they’re also variations on what you would normally drink with steak… some alternatives to the expected, some absolutely out there. 

Viticola Mentridana, Uvas de la Ira, 2022

Delicious but ethereal Garnacha from Grados. Crystaline, pretty, juicy but quite light.

Makovitis Winery, Xinomavro, 2019

This drinks like a Nebbiolo, say Langhe etc… delicious! 

Remelluri, Lindes de Remelluri ‘Pecina’, 2020

A Rioja, but a very modern style. No new oak and not extensively aged and extracted. Dense, but very pure dark berry fruit, and surprisingly aromatic.

Heymann-Lowenstein ‘Rottgen’ Riesling, 2017

Aged Riesling, a little flinty/smoky, so, in a word, perfect!

El Maestro Sierra, Oloroso, NV

Oloroso means “very aromatic”, and this one does justice to its name.
